Eric Bolton is a Canadian alternative rock singer-songwriter performing as a solo act, with an accompanying band, and also as the front man of rock group, Shy Harry.

Classic Rock Magazine described Eric’s voice as a “sweet spot between Eddie Vedder, Michael Stipe and Chris Cornell.” (Issue 295 – Dec 2021).

A few of his main influences are John Mayer, Jeff Buckley, Damien Rice, Eddie Vedder, Chris Cornell, Brandi Carlile, Alicia Keys, U2, Glen Hansard, Norah Jones, Beck, Great Big Sea, and Tallest Man On Earth.  He has been performing for over 13 years across Ontario at various private and public events, restaurants, weddings, and community fundraisers.

Eric’s debut solo track, ‘Genesis (Let There Be Love)’ was called “a rock anthem for the ages” by Rock and Load Magazine.

In 2021 Eric released four cover music EPs under the series ‘Rooms’, featuring songs he’s loved covering over the years.   Then in fall 2021, Eric released ‘The Home Light’ which soon after received the title of Classic Rock Magazine’s song of the week.  ‘The Home Light’ was then recreated in the fall of 2021 as a piano version with talented guest vocalist, Jessie T.

Eric has now released his long anticipated debut solo album, ‘Here Between’, on October 14th, 2022.  The full length album of original music features 14 full band songs and one acoustic bonus track, including the recently released ‘Hello, Angels’, ‘Grace is Green’, ‘The Way’, ‘Neon Soul’, and ‘Steady, My Love’.  Joined on this album are Nathan Bulla (drums), Nathan Payne (bass), Daniel Walton (guitar), Jessie T (guest vocalist on ‘Why?’), and a stunning choir of community folks.   The 14 full band tracks were recorded live off the floor at Halo Recording Studio in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.   The vocals, organ, and acoustic guitar were then done by Eric at his own studio, E-Bolt Music, in Cambridge, Ontario.   Eric then went to the beautiful B Town Sound in Burlington, Ontario to record the grand piano and then later also tracked the choir there.   The bonus track was recorded on a trip of shows in Halifax, at the Sonic Temple.

On September 12, 2022 Eric released his first big music video, for his song ‘Hello, Angels’, the lead single for the upcoming album.   The video was quickly picked up for a feature by numerous press sources, including ERB (Emerging Rock Bands) and reached nearly 60k views on YouTube in the first two months of its release.   The video won ‘Best Male Vocalist’ in the Prague Music Video Awards and is currently up for a few more video and film festival awards.

Eric Bolton’s album release show for ‘Here Between’ was on October 14th to the Cambridge Arts Theatre and it sold out in just one week then was followed by a series of shows around parts of Ontario and the east coast of Canada.  The album release show is available for purchase in Eric’s online shop or to stream on any major music streaming platform.   Eric also did a live-recorded solo acoustic fireside show at the stunning Cambridge Mill and that album and video are also available online.
